
Lahore: Two more cases of polio were reported in Punjab province, after which the number of polio-affected children in the province rose to eight.
According to details, 2 more cases of polio were reported in Punjab, polio cases were reported in Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.
Punjab Anti-Polio Program has said that the child infected with polio in DG Khan is 8 months old, both his hands and feet were affected, however the infected child died.
In Bahawalpur, a 13-year-old boy was diagnosed with polio virus. His right leg was affected. After two cases were reported, the number of polio-affected children in Punjab has risen to eight.
It may be recalled that in recent days a special polio campaign was launched which had successfully achieved its target.
It should be noted that last year was the worst for Pakistan in terms of polio when 147 polio cases were recorded across the country. This rate of polio was the highest since 2014 as 306 cases of polio virus were reported in 2014. And this rate was the highest in the last 14 years.
