According to details, flood situation is still prevailing in Kachho area of Dadu city of Sindh province due to rains last week. Residents of Kachho have been confined to their homes for several days.
Ground connections to Dadu and Johi have been suspended due to breakage of several roads and bridges. Land connections of 10 Union Councils and more than 300 villages have been cut off in Kachho.
The road to Gorakh Hill station has not been restored yet, which is causing severe hardships to tourists. Dozens of villages have been affected by the floods and electricity has been cut off for several days.
The death toll from the floods in Kachho has risen to eight, including two women, as roofs and houses collapsed, forcing residents to live in the open.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had visited Dadu to assess the flood situation. He had expressed his displeasure over the flood devastation in Johi and the irrigation department and the district administration.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Army had also conducted relief and rescue operations in Dadu and Jhal Magsi. The Pakistan Army and Navy teams had shifted the victims to safer places.
Army, Navy medical and engineering teams assisted the civil administration in the operation, while food was also provided to 1,000 people in the affected areas.
