Riyadh: The Saudi Human Rights Commission has taken action against a father who deprived his children of education for five years. After the separation of the couple, the father had deliberately deprived the children of education.
According to Saudi media, the Human Rights Commission has taken action on the complaint of a relative of the children. When the information was confirmed, the commission summoned the children's father to the office.
The children's father submitted an agreement that he would not do so in the future and would arrange for the children's education. The Human Rights Commission contacted the Ministry of Education to resolve the children's educational issues. The children were deprived of education for five years.
The Ministry of Education has decided that they will be tested and it will be decided in which class they will be admitted.
Bandar al-Hajri, director general of the Complaints Agency under the Human Rights Commission, said the commission would follow up on the matter until the children were admitted regularly.
Depriving children of education is the worst form of violence. There is no justification for depriving children of education on the basis of domestic disputes.
