ISLAMABAD: The appeals of Nawaz Sharif and NAB will be heard today in Azizia and Avon Field Reference. Nawaz Sharif has filed two petitions for exemption from attendance.
According to details, an appeal against Nawaz Sharif's sentence will be heard in the Azizia reference in the Islamabad High Court today. Khawaja Harris will appear on behalf of Nawaz Sharif.
The Division Bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani in the Islamabad High Court will also hear the appeals of Azizia and Maryam Nawaz and retired Captain Muhammad Safdar in the House Field Reference.
The NAB's appeals will also be heard, including an increase in the sentence of a PML-N supreme leader in the Azizia case from seven years to 14 years and an appeal against the acquittal in the second flagship reference.
A spokesman of the Islamabad High Court said that the appeals of Nawaz Sharif and NAB in Azizia and Avon Field Reference would be heard at 11:30 am. No one except the concerned lawyer could enter the court room before the hearing.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has reached Islamabad to appear before the court. Workers have started arriving outside the court. A security plan has been prepared for the appearance of Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar and the Islamabad administration has summoned Rangers.
One thousand Islamabad police personnel will be deployed, barricades will be set up on the way to the court and the service road in front of the High Court will be completely closed.

It may be recalled that Nawaz Sharif has filed two petitions for exemption from attendance. The petition states that Nawaz Sharif cannot appear in court on medical grounds.
It may be recalled that a copy of Nawaz Sharif's medical report dated June 26, 2020 was submitted to the Islamabad High Court yesterday.
The report revealed that Nawaz Sharif's life is in danger due to the problem of sugar and platelets. Nawaz Sharif's platelets are sometimes up and down. The corona virus can cause infections.
The report said that if Nawaz Sharif had to suffer, then it is difficult for him to survive, so in this case, his regular treatment can not be started.
It should be noted that the accountability court had sentenced Avon Field Reference to imprisonment and fine on July 6, 2018. Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, Maryam Safdar to 7 years imprisonment and Captain Safdar to 1 year imprisonment while Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment in Azizia Steel Mills Reference.
In the reference, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar are on bail after the suspension.
