Abuja: A gas tanker caught fire in Nigeria after a powerful explosion, killing 28 people, including nine children, and burning several vehicles to ashes.
According to details, a gas tanker exploded after colliding with a vehicle in the Nigerian capital Abuja, the blast was so loud that its sound could be heard far away.
According to a foreign news agency, the fire that broke out after the blast also set fire to more than a dozen vehicles parked nearby. So far, 28 people have been reported killed in the tragic accident, including nine children.
In this regard, a road safety agency official told the media that after the truck brakes failed in the state of Central Nigeria, 5 cars, 3 rickshaws and several motorcycles collided and overturned and exploded, followed by a terrible fire.
According to the official, 28 people were killed and several others injured in the accident and were shifted to nearby hospitals.
According to a spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corporation, the incident took place in front of a petrol station on the highway. The state governor said that several lives were lost in the accident. Also destroyed.
